Oxford is in the south of England
Oxford is approximately 1.5 hours by bus or 1 hour by train from central London. Birmingham is also 1 hour by train from Oxford.
The Lake School is in the centre of Oxford, close to shops, restaurants, traditional pubs, theatres, bus and train stations, as well as the famous Oxford University colleges.
Oxford is a small city, with a population of around 150,000, including around 30,000 students. The Lake School is in the city centre, near the bus and train stations. The centre is mainly Oxford University colleges, public buildings, shops, offices, restaurants, theatres and parks.
On your first day, your homestay will help you to get to the Lake School. When you arrive at the school, you will receive a map of Oxford in your Welcome Folder.
Most people travel to work and school by bus. Some go by bicycle or on foot. The average journey time from home to the centre is 25 minutes. This can be longer or shorter, depending on the traffic conditions. The cost of a 2-week Bus Pass PLUS is £30. You can buy this from the bus driver.
