I'm glad I chose Oxford, it's easy to get to and it's convenient for lots of interesting places.

Personal attention from experienced professionals

All the teachers at the Lake School are qualified in teaching English as a foreign language and very experienced in working with students from all over the world, both in the UK and abroad.

Some of our present and former staff have also written English language teaching materials for publishers such as Macmillan and Oxford University Press.

Inside Out

Sue Kay, former Lake School Director and Teacher Trainer wrote the highly regarded Reward Teacher Resource Packs, full of original ideas and a huge variety of language teaching activities.

Sue also co-authored "Inside Out" with Vaughan Jones, a former trainer at The Lake School. This adult course proved very popular with our students and some loved trying it out while the writers were developing it.

Wendy Superfine, Primary Teacher Refresher Course Co-ordinator has co-written some very popular Primary courses for Oxford University Press (including Zoom, Cool, Best Friends and Stepping Stones) and Delta Publishing (including Fun and Games in English and Telling Tales).

Angus Savory, Lake School teacher, has developed a website, www.letslearnenglish.co.uk and also a suite of software programmes for English language learners, which are lots of fun and available for use in school.

Former Lake School teacher, Pete Maggs, wrote a number of teacher resource books and online teaching materials.
