English and Business Studies
The best of both worlds: proficiency in English and improved career skills
You will have General English language training at the Lake School, followed by a Business Studies course at an Oxford business college.
You can start your Intensive General English course almost every Monday between January and June or September and December. In July and August, you must start on fixed dates.
If you wish, you can take a combination of general English and exam preparation to create your own personal study programme. Exam preparation is available for all students who are Intermediate or above.

Course content: Business Studies
You start your Business Studies after you have completed your General English training. Most students are required to achieve an IELTS score of 5.5 and to attend an interview at the business college. Business Studies Certificate courses start in July. You study full time for 1 or 2 months. The modules on the Business Studies course can include:
- Marketing
- Human Resources
- Business Finance
- Strategic Planning
- Business Management and Administration
- International Business Communications
- Business Accounting
- Management Theory and Practice
You can also have training in Information Technology. You can also attend personal development seminars to increase your confidence in the workplace. They cover many work related issues, such as meetings, job interviews, presentation skills and time management.
Achieving your goals: intensive training for your future career
On successful completion of the Business Studies programme, you will receive a Certificate in Business Studies. This certificate is an ideal start for a career in International Business.
