Professional Development Courses

Practical, creative ideas and a dynamic approach from experienced professionals

These successful and popular courses are for teachers of English at Primary, Secondary or Adult level and people working in educational contexts or using English in their work.

The courses take place throughout the year and are eligible for LLP EU funding with Comenius grants and Grundtvig grants.

All courses include cultural and social activities.

All teachers on our Professional Development Courses are invited to follow us on Twitter @EnglishinOxford and share teaching ideas, classroom questions and thoughts on English with colleagues and friends.

Comenius-Grundtvig Funding, Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)

All of these courses are eligible for EU LLP Comenius and Grundtvig funding.

Under the Comenius-Grundtvig programme, grants are provided to people who work in education. Grants are provided to participants from: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.

If you work in School Education, you can apply for Comenius funding.

If you work in Adult Education, you can apply for Grundtvig funding, and you can find our adult education courses on the LLP Grundtvig Database.

In both cases, you should:

  • contact your National Agency for a Comenius OR Grundtvig application form
  • ask Lake School to send you a Comenius OR Grundtvig pre-registration document/course information for the dates you choose

Then you should send your completed application form, pre-registration and course information back to your National Agency, who will assess your application.

The deadline is 30th of April 2012 for courses between September and December 2012.
