Getting to Oxford

Oxford is in the south of England,

Oxford is approximately 1.5 hours by bus, or 1 hour by train from central London. Birmingham is also 1 hour from Oxford by train.

By Air

The nearest airports to Oxford are London Heathrow, London Gatwick and  Birmingham International.

There is a direct bus service from London Heathrow and London Gatwick to Gloucester Green central bus station in Oxford. You can find information about times and fares from Oxford Bus-Heathrow-Gatwick. You can buy a ticket in advance or on the bus. The journey time from Heathrow is approximately 1 hour, and from Gatwick it is 2.5 hours.

There is a direct train service from Birmingham International to Oxford train station. You can find information about times and fares from The Trainline. You can buy a ticket in advance or at Birmingham International station.The journey time is approximately 1 hour.

If you are arriving at Stansted or Luton airport, please note that the journey time by bus may be 3 - 4 hours. The bus number 737 serves both Luton and Stansted airports. You can find information about times and fares from National Express.You can buy a ticket in advance or at the ticket office, when you arrive.

When you arrive in Oxford, you can take a taxi to your accommodation. At Gloucester Green bus station and Oxford train station there are 24-hour taxi ranks.

By train

If you are travelling on Eurostar, you will arrive at London St Pancras station. From here, you can take the London Underground to Paddington station and then a train to Oxford. You can find information about times and fares from The Trainline. Your total journey time from St Pancras to Oxford will be approximately 2.5 hours.

When you arrive in Oxford, you can take a taxi to your accommodation. At Oxford train station there is are 24-hour taxi ranks.
